<iframe width=”640″ height=”360″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/2zt5E-ue-MA” frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen></iframe>

Jelang peluncuran albumnya pekan depan, The Corrs merilis video teaser di laman Facebook resmi mereka.

Sebuah video klip bertajuk “Bring on the Night” diunggah ke akun YouTube resmi mereka juga baru-baru ini. Begini syairnya.

I read the book you read, tasted the words you said
Our story is darkening with time
One fading afternoon
The leaves dried in your car, no picture understood
But I had a feeling I would cry, you hid it all from me
And I’ll miss you forever
Let’s hope we’ve always summer

Yeah bring on the night, I don’t care
Turn on the dark, I’m not scared
Spirit money to a flame
Ask that I’ll see you again (that I’ll see you again)
Yeah bring on the night, I don’t care
Turn on the dark, I’m not scared
Wherever it is you left me behind
I’ll follow you down the path of my broken heart

Flowers on Edith Grove, wilt like a love note
Every day I’m passing by, I say a little prayer
And I’ll miss you forever
Let’s hope we’ve always summer

Yeah bring on the night, I don’t care
Turn on the dark, I’m not scared
Spirit money to a flame
Ask that I’ll see you again (that I’ll see you again)
Yeah bring on the night, I don’t care
Turn on the dark, I’m not scared
Wherever it is you left me behind
I’ll follow you down the path of my broken heart

Oh, oh, oh, oh
And I’ll miss you forever
Let’s hope we’ve always summer

Yeah bring on the night, I don’t care
Turn on the dark, I’m not scared
Spirit money to a flame
Ask that I’ll see you again (that I’ll see you again)
Yeah bring on the night, I don’t care
Turn on the dark, I’m not scared
Wherever it is you left me behind
I’ll follow you down the path of my broken heart

Sudah tak sabar menunggu pekan depan!

On Our Fears and Our Fates…

I’ve never been a person with fondness of huge festivity in any occasions. So when people flock during year’s end to celebrate a new year, I prefer being with the closest. Not too many, just the closest, the warmest.

And it is no wonder that December – holiday season – seems to be the most saddening and somber month of all. After the tsunami a decade ago in Aceh, intermittent floods in Jakarta, the arson at one of the largest traditional textile markets in Indonesia Pasar Klewer in Solo, the missing AirAsia QZ8510, I guess there’re more people who now are listening to their conscience. It’s time to ponder. It’s time to appreciate more what they have, not what they crave.

The fears and fates are so intertwined they can’t be separated with each other. And this very song of Jimmy McCarthy sung by the Corrs, my favorite band, suits that mood perfectly. Enjoy…

“No Frontiers”

If life is a river and your heart is a boat
And just like a water baby, baby born to float
And if life is a wild wind that blows way on high
Then your heart is Amelia dying to fly
Heaven knows no frontiers
And I’ve seen heaven in your eyes

And if life is a bar room in which we must wait
‘Round the man with his fingers on the ivory gates
Where we sing until dawn of our fears and our fates
And we stack all the deadmen in self addressed crates
In your eyes faint as the singing of a lark
That somehow this black night
Feels warmer for the spark
Warmer for the spark
To hold us ’till the day
When fear will lose its grip
And heaven has its way
Heaven knows no frontiers
And I’ve seen heaven in your eyes

If your life is a rough bed of brambles and nails
And your spirit’s a slave to man’s whips and man’s jails
Where you thirst and you hunger for justice and right
Then your heart is a pure flame of man’s constant night
In your eyes faint as the singing of a lark
That somehow this black night
Feels warmer for the spark
Warmer for the spark
To hold us ’til the day when fear will lose its grip
And heaven has its way
And heaven has its way
When all will harmonise
And know what’s in our hearts
The dream will realise

Heaven knows no frontiers
And I’ve seen heaven in your eyes
Heaven knows no frontiers
And I’ve seen heaven in your eyes

When Sharon Corr Wants You to "Take a Minute" in Your Mundane Life

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUcGcGFCcqk&w=420&h=315]

Take a minute, just a little time
One more moment, for a little while
When I go, I’ll be back before you notice
One last chance before I say goodbye

Take a minute
Take a minute

Time is running I have to go
But as I turn to leave
I see that look you know
You cannot hide every time we say goodbye

Take a minute, just a little time
One more moment, for a little while
When I go, I’ll be back before you notice
One last chance before I say goodbye

Take a minute
Take a minute

I know we’re oceans apart
But someday soon we’ll lie under the moon

In each others arms
In each others arms

Take a minute, just a little time
One more moment, for a little while
When I go, I’ll be back before you notice
One last chance before I say goodbye

Take a minute
Let’s take a minute
Take a minute
Let’s take a minute

The Meaning of Life

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUicDKM80oU&w=560&h=315]

“Most of the time, I believe, it’s good people doing bad things. it’s bad people doing bad things.”
“Religion and churches are run by human beings. Human beings are fallible and if i am to sit and judge I cant blame Gos for this stuff. I blame our human failings. I suppose the problem with church in a way was that we dwcided they win over humans ..to give them complete authority and bring respecy and no voice to say,” No I dont think that is right”. And that is why it went wrong and that is NOT God.” – Andrea Corr

Smalltown Boy

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PE5-caq4ezs&w=560&h=315]

You leave in the morning with everything you own
In a little black case
Alone on a platform, the wind and the rain
On a sad and lonely face

Mother will never understand
Why you had to leave
For the answers you seek will never be found at home
The love that you need will never be found at home

Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away

Pushed around and kicked around, always a lonely boy
You were the one that they’d talk about around town
As they put you down

And as hard as they would try, they’d hurt to make you cry
But you’d never cry to them, just to your soul
No, you’d never cry to them, just to your soul

Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away

Cry boy, cry, cry boy, cry, cry boy
Cry boy, cry, cry boy, cry boy, cry, cry boy
Cry boy, cry, cry boy, cry boy, cry, cry boy
Cry boy, cry, cry boy, cry boy, cry

You leave in the morning with everything you own
In a little black case
Alone on a platform, the wind and the rain
On a sad and lonely face

Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away

Andrea Corr on Taking a Break from Her Passion

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g47e9xkIOkk&w=560&h=315]

A deeply inspirational video of the youngest of the Corrs. Too my eyes, Andrea looks a bit older, especially her eyes and some lines on the forehead. But that’s not what matters most. She is definitely more mature in terms of everything. Really like how she answered when asked about her taking break from singing, her passion that took her to the international fame.

Here’s the interview:

Anchor: “The headline saying “ I  never wanted to sing again”.Is that true?”
Andrea : “It sounds so dramatic. haha. Well you know I wanted to wait, I wanted to be really enthusiastic about it. But it wasn’t really the singing thing, it was everything that went with it. I want to, when I sang again, I wanted to have all the enthusiasm.”
Anchor: “There’s a period where you didn’t sing. How long was that?”
Andrea: “That was like when I was in France. I didn’t (sing). A year maybe. You know I did a few things.”
Anchor: “Did you miss it (singing)?”
Andrea : “(pause) Errr, no I don’t think so. You know I was brought back into it kind of just before I have got to miss it. I think sometimes you have to walk away from something to find that you need it. And I was kind of pulled back into this and doing this record has just… you know.. ignited my passion almost more than ever. So it’s been quite a turnaround.”
Such a shrewd answer she had provided!

I Hereby Quit Practicing Fiddle …

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPYXcPEXAGI]

If a novice fiddler must have a role model, I believe it’s gotta be Sharon ‘the Posh’ Corr. Apart from her gorgeous cheek bones and one-of-its-kind nose (can’t help saying that), she plays like a goddess. And as for me, I’d really like to be an accomplished fiddler yet the lack of time to rehearse and very miserable fingering ability. You can’t get the feel, the groove, with a limited amount of practice and talent. I do wish I started earlier, right after got out of the womb.

Looking in the Eyes of Love

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBFvQld92qc&playnext=1&list=PL3849DF125D2C68E0]

Just a song I used to listen to a lot in 2001-2002…

“Looking in the Eyes of Love”

I wonder should I tell you about all the crazy things that I have done

I’ve been hiding all my life when I should’ve stayed I tried to run

I’ve been searching for an answer

In the world so full of strangers

What I found was never really enough

Now that I found you

Looking in the eyes of love
